According to Maku Free Zone news site, on Thursday in the meeting of the Administrative Council of the Maku Free Zone, which was held in the presence of the Presidency’s Deputy of Parliament Affairs and the Secretary of the Supreme Council of the Free and Special Economic Zones, Hosein Garousi said: the position of the free zones in the world is very important. Currently, 5400 free zones are operating in the whole world and the number is rising every day.
He stated that the positive impact of free zones on the economy of countries reflects importance of these zones and added: Fortunately, a new horizon has been opened in the 13th government regarding international trade and economic development, and it is possible to develop the zones by having the right tools and structures in hand and make a good impact on the national economy.
Garousi announced that several infrastructure and investment projects are ready to be launched in Maku Free Zone and said: We can take steps in the areas of logistics, mining and food in terms of the existing security in the region.
