According to the Maku Free Zone news site, Hossein Garousi, accompanied by Hojatullah Abdulmaleki, in a meeting with Kamal Muslim, the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, pointed out to the potential of Maku Free Zone for investment and added: “Fortunately, in the 13th government, strengthening relations with neighboring countries is considered as an important approach of diplomacy, and therefore all capacities are used in this regard.
Referring to the high capacity of the markets of the region and countries neighboring Maku Free Zone for trade development, Garousi said: Maku Free Zone, which has outstanding transit, industrial, manufacturing, mining, agricultural and tourism capacities, it will participate in the attraction of foreign investment and will increase its export capacity, more than the past.
In this meeting, the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq also pointed out the importance of developing economic relations with Iran and said: The Islamic Republic of Iran has been with the Kurdistan Region of Iraq in difficult times and we believe that Iran is an advanced country that is on the path of development.
Kamal Muslim announced the region’s readiness to develop any joint cooperation in the economic field and said: We can use the capabilities of the Islamic Republic in favor of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
