Cooperation Summit of Border Provinces of Iran and Turkey Starts in Turkey

The sixth cooperation meeting of border provinces of the Islamic Republic of Iran-Turkey began by the presence of the Governor of West Azerbaijan and the CEO of Maku Free Zone Organization

According to the Maku Free Zone news site, the governor of Van province in the opening ceremony of this meeting said: The common border between Iran and Turkey is one of the oldest borders in the region and has been a border of friendship and cooperation in the past 400 years.

At the sixth meeting of economic cooperation between the border provinces of Iran and Turkey, while welcoming the Iranian delegation, Ozan Balji added: Iran, as our friend and companion and one of Turkey’s most important neighbors, has a valuable position in Turkey’s foreign relations.

He also pointed out that the meetings of the two sides were held regularly in the past years and noted: Unfortunately, due to the spread of the Corona pandemic and the bitter earthquake in eastern Turkey, these meetings were delayed, and today we are happy that the sixth cooperation meetings is hosted by Turkey.

The governor of Van Province of Turkey added: The significant increase of trade relations in recent years show the will of both sides to increase political and economic relations and indicate the beginning of a new approach and chapter in cross-border economic relations.

In the end, Balji stated: Tourism, trade, border security, industries and border standards will be among the most important subjects of this summit.
