The Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free Trade, Industry and Special Economic Zones, visiting Turkey at the invitation of Mustafa Tuzcu, the Turkish Ministry of Trade, stressed the necessity of developing economic relations between free zones of the two countries.
According to Maku Free Zone News Agency, citing FREENA, special emphasis was placed on the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed at the 8th meeting of the High Council of Cooperation between Turkey and Iran, and the establishment of cooperation mechanisms within the framework of free and special economic zones by the Secretary of the High Council of Free Zones.
The delegations of the two countries also reviewed the potential for cooperation in the field of free and special economic zones and discussed joint projects and mechanisms to increase trade and investment between the two countries.
The Turkish Ministry of Trade, in a statement regarding the meeting, emphasized the determination of Iran and Turkey to develop their economic relations through trade and investment.
The ministry of Trade, appreciating the visit of Reza Masrour and the accompanying delegation to Turkey, announced that efforts will continue with determination to achieve the vision of a trade volume of $30 billion set by the presidents of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Turkey.
It is worth mentioning that Hosein Garousi, CEO of Maku Free Zone Organization, and Mohammad Hasan Habibollah, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkey, accompanied Reza Masrour in this meeting.
Visiting Istanbul Free Zone with the presence of the Iranian Consul General and meeting with Turkish businessmen and traders with the aim of attracting foreign investment and increasing exports to Turkey were among Masrour’s other plans of visiting Turkey.
